school!

Today we had our first trip on the metro! The metro system here is crazy and awesome at the same time. Its really intense. We had to be at La Villette (our school) at 10 a.m.

the door is super small and you would have no idea how big the campus is inside just by looking at it!!

We did a quick orientation thing then broke for lunch. We had these kebab sandwiches? At a little shop r right near the school. No pictures today but they were so good! Trust.

For the next two weeks, we don't have actual classes. We just will be meeting at La Villette every morning for 2-3 hours of French, a lunch break, and either having the afternoons off or meeting at some cool place in the city with one of the professors, doing the "touristy" things.

After lunch, we went and got our student id's which took the rest of the afternoon. On the way back on the metro, we got off at the right stop, but exited through the wrong door! So we were lost for about 5, but made it back :)

Still working on trying to get a cell phone.. I miss texts! Also debating what classes to take in the fall. We have to take French, Paris Urban Form, Studio and a Visual Arts class, but I'm trying to debate if I should take a French elective with the French school as well. We'll see what happens!

Oh yeah, the shoes of the day (haha): little short grey flat suede booties that I got with Nance when I was home in VA. Love you Nance! You were right about them being comfortable and awesome :)

Thats all for now.. Today is Christy's birthday, so were going to the Eiffel Tower with wine and baguettes at midnight to watch it light up!

  1. Alyssa! I'm so jealous you're in Paris! I love your blog - I'm going to live vicariously through you until you get back :) I saw that you had kebabs - Paris has some AMAZING places. Chris and I went to this place "L'as du Fallafel" this past summer and it was awesome - cheap and tasty. You have to go. Have so much fun!!!
